Ringo Starr is still answering bags and bags of mail from his Beatles
days, including a letter Marge sent him as a girl. "Dear Sally," he
writes to one fan, "In response to your letter of December the 12th,
1966, me favorite color is blue, and me real first name is Richard.
Thanks for the snapshot -- you're a real cute bird. Love, Ringo. P.S.:
Forgive the lateness of my reply."
When his butler asks if he really intends to answer all that
piled-up mail, Ringo says, "They took the time to write me, and I don't
care if it takes another 20 years -- I'm going to answer every one."
Well, it looks as if that time is up, because now Ringo is announcing that he doesn't want any more mail, ever.
