Oprah inspires people. In some of her viewers she inspires a sense
of charity and the will to make our world a better place. In others,
she incites, um, hysteria (Oprah's favorite things, anyone?). She has
the ability to make people go apeshit over a special cashmere handled
ass-scratcher, or an umbrella made of baby-hair. People love her and
will buy anything she says while weeping profusely and mumbling her
name through the spit/tears/snot combo that happens during the now
patented Oprah Ugly Cry.
This is why Oprah's recession-time gift to the nation, Free Grilled KFC Chicken, was a lovely thought but a terrible idea.
