Kanye West Defends Chris Brown on VH1's "Storytellers"

Posted by Olivia Purnell

Really, dude?  Et tu Kanye?

Yup.  Kanye filmed an episode of VH1 Storytellers recently, we’re pretty sure he brought his trusty vocoder, but we’re positive he brought a backpack full of controversy.

After calling out Radiohead’s Thom Yorke for dissing him backstage at the Grammys, Ye decided to speak on the Chris Brown situation.  Here’s what he had to say:

"Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life."

Um, we know that all the details of the Chris/Rihanna incident aren’t crystal clear and we’re waiting to pass judgment until all the facts come to light.  But unless Kanye’s mistakes include issuing his girlfriend a public beating then fleeing the scene, we aren’t sure he should align himself with the Chris sitch yet.  We’re just saying.

Kanye also had some wisdom to offer on the subject of O.J. Simpson:

"O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not? What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?"

Uh . . . What?

WOW. If u listen to what he said, he's pretty much saying that no matter WHAT O.J. did, he was still a great football player before he did what he did. He also mentioned Michael Jackson. I don't think that you can say that Michael wasnt great, despite what he might've/might've not done. I don't think that what Chris did was right either, but he shouldnt be crucified for it. Nothing that Kanye said was out of line.
