"Friday Night Lights" Cast Blogs on Entertainment Weekly

Posted by Lindy Parker

You know like on Christmas morning when you wake up totally pumped, rush out to the living room, and open all the presents in a fit of excitement, but then as you're looking around at the detritus of wrapping paper, the inevitable depression sets in and you realize there's nothing left to live for?  That's kind of how we felt after we watched all the episodes of Friday Night Lights on Direct TV this fall, and then realized we'd have to wait for them all to re-air on NBC before we even hope for another season.  Luckily, Entertainment Weekly understands what we're going through, and has decided to kick us down with a little extra Friday Night Love to get us through this rough time...

EW's bringing in FNL cast members to blog about each episode as it airs on NBC.  First up, Connie Britton..

A tease: "Next up is a scene with me and Kyle my-TV-husband Chandler. Any scene that starts with, 'I don't give two farts about the booster's anxiety' is okay by me. And we had a good time shooting this scene, because Kyle thought he was soooo funny putting one over on me (Tami) about the booster BBQ by saying, 'I promise that maybe we'll have it somewhere else' when I ask if we can not have it at our house next year. He thought his 'maybe' promise, followed by a big smooch was hilarious."

Look for Gaius Charles (Smash), Zach Gilford (Saracen), and Scott Porter (Jason Street) to guest blog in future weeks. (Entertainment Weekly)

Thank God.  It's like getting to watch commentary before the season comes out on DVD.  We feel a little better now.

About Lindy Parker

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She now writes for nerve.com's TV blog, "The Remote Island." She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.

Ben Kallen is an entertainment, health and humor writer who's been lectured to by Sidney Poitier, argued with by Lea Thompson and smiled at by Jennifer Connelly. He's the coauthor of The No S Diet and author of The Year in Weird, along with hundreds of magazine articles. He lives near the beach in Los Angeles, just like the gang from Three's Company.

Nicole Ankowski has lived in Ohio, Oakland, and on the high plains of South Dakota, but is now proud to call Brooklyn home. She wrote for alternative weekly papers in the first two states, and tried to learn Lakota in the last. (The vowels can be tricky.) She just earned her MFA in Creative Writing and has been published in Beeswax literary journal. She is unable to resist good writing or bad TV.
