
She's from Upright Citizens Brigade, (which, of course, is where Poehler first got known) and will be playing an intern who follows Amy's character, Leslie Knope, around.The pieces of this spinoff are coming together: Poehler will play "the deputy chairman of parks and recreations in Pawnee, Ind." In the show, Leslie attempts to improve her town and advance her
career by helping a local nurse (Rashida Jones, "The Office") turn a
construction pit into a park. They're opposed by defensive bureaucrats,
NIMBY neighbors and developers. She's helped and hindered by Tom
Haverford (Aziz Ansari, "Human Giant," "Scrubs"), another government
official.
In the process, Leslie hopes to inspire her bored college intern
(Aubrey Plaza) and reach her goal of becoming the first female
President of the United States.
We likes. Anyway, Plaza's young, and her career is taking off: she's currently shooting Judd Apatow's Funny People, will be in a film premiering at Sundance, and has been cast in the upcoming Michael Cera movie Scott Pilgrim Against The World.
