OMG, Carson Is That You?

Posted by Olivia Purnell

Remember that slightly dorky DJ turned VJ who dated Tara Reid for a while (oh, Tara, how the years go by).  He always had some smart-ass remark about the Back Street Boys or O-Town or whoever, even though Back Street and O-Town fans (those screaming crying girls clutching glossy posters to their nonexistent bosoms) paid his MTV salary.  You remember. Carson Daly, from TRL.

Yeah, well, Carson’s got a few things to tell you.  You might want to sit down.

Small talk first: His show Last Call With Carson Daly, is still going strong.  He’s still hosting, blah blah blah.  He’s been cycling a lot, working on his fitness . . . so there’s that.  He’s also got this little thing on December 31st called New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly on NBC.

But here’s the big news:  He’s having a baby!  Well, he’s not having the baby in the pregnant man from Oprah sense, but he’s at least credited with the assist.  Carson’s girlfriend, Siri Pinter, is pregnant and the two are expecting their first child in the spring (people.com).  Although we would like to offer Carson our congratulations, we don’t know who this Siri person.  She is most certainly not Miss Tara Reid, American Pie 90’s queen.  Bring Tara back, Carson . . . We bet she’d be a really fun babysitter.

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
