&lt;p&gt;It is a very difficult area because &amp;quot;it isn't a nice subject&amp;quot;..not a vote-winner and, of course child victims don't vote. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Few parents of abused children are aware of the political aspects and few contact their members of parliament. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There is clearly a need for a thorough investigation into the modus operandii of clergy who offend. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Many of the interviewers alleged that the priests told them that they had been chosen by God to provide sexual services. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That is spiritual as well as sexual abuse. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

The Best &amp; Worst Endings Of All Time (Part Eleven)</title><link>http://nerve.com/CS/blogs/screengrab/archive/2009/05/28/th-th-that-s-all-folks-the-best-amp-worst-endings-of-all-time-part-eleven.aspx#207258</link><pubDate>Fri, 29 May 2009 14:55:02 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">bd485f5c-a45b-491f-8e52-c79e7f680fc3:207258</guid><dc:creator>mjb</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;Is there a point in leaving a comment? &amp;nbsp;Oh well, I will anyway, I can't really argue that Spielberg struggles with endings (the first half of War of the Worlds is just over the top brilliant, the second half is...uh, not) and I'm not even completely sure Spielberg was in total control of the subtexts of the ending of AI, but on a second and third viewing, I came around to the notion that he ends it the only way it could end, that to leave David staring at the Blue Fairy would be a kind of facile dreary existentialism. &amp;nbsp;What the movie is about ultimately is obsession masquerading as love and once you tap into this, the ending as it plays is not only perfect but sublimely creepy.&lt;/p&gt;
