And it</description><dc:language>en</dc:language><generator>CommunityServer 2007.1 (Build: 20910.1126)</generator><item><title>re: Katherine Heigl Drops Out of the Emmy Race?</title><link>http://nerve.com/CS/blogs/scanner/archive/2008/06/12/katherine-heigl-drops-out-of-the-emmy-race.aspx#100919</link><pubDate>Thu, 12 Jun 2008 17:16:22 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">bd485f5c-a45b-491f-8e52-c79e7f680fc3:100919</guid><dc:creator>tartlet</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;Wow. &amp;nbsp;What can I say, I totally agree with her. &amp;nbsp;She did a decent enough job with the material she was given this season, but the material itself absolutely blew. &amp;nbsp;Through bad writing Izzy went from being an interesting character with balls, integrity and sensitivity to being pathetic, self-interested, internally inconsistent, one-dimensional and boring. &amp;nbsp;Which is why I was rendered speechless at Miranda's speech in the season finale, which noted Izzy's amazing growth and development. &amp;nbsp;Um, excuse me? &amp;nbsp;Did I miss something? &amp;nbsp;And most characters on the show were given the same treatment.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So anyway, Heigl is a tad idealistic if she thinks awards shows have any integrity in the first place, and this probably isn't the best method to address poor writing issues, but she definitely has a point.&lt;/p&gt;
