Even Sex Fairs Are Weirder In China

Over the past few days, China held one of its "wildest" sex fairs, the Guangzhou Sex Culture Festival highlighted cultural artifacts like "condoms" and "sex toys" to the bafflement of many attendees...

Seriously, it sounds like your typical sexfest, except for a choice word that threw us for a loop:

This year's festival features activities ranging from talks on birth control such as condoms to sex toys, a photo show on sexual health and eugenics, forums on sexology, quizzes and lingerie shows.

Ahead of the festival, sexologists gave a series of lectures to middle school and college students, as well as migrant workers. The goal was to improve sexual knowledge and awareness of safe sex, said Zhang Feng, chief of the Guangdong Provincial Commission of Population and Birth Control.

We were a bit disturbed by the inclusion of eugenics, but what should we have expected, seeing that this is China we're talking about?

A six-month survey of 65 such workers found 45 unmarried people aged 18 to 25 had premarital sex. The study also found that the migrants changed sex partners more frequent than local urbanites, said Zheng Lixin, deputy head of the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Birth Control Science and Technology.

"Migrants showed greater tolerance toward sex and were more liberal with sex partners," Zheng said.

Isn't it the same in the US? The unwashed masses are the liberals, with their babymaking and welfare moms, and the pristine conservatives having exactly 2.5 children and waiting until their affairs to have intercourse?

Promiscuity among migrants, which had caused sexual and reproduction problems, was endangering the reproductive health of this group of people, warned Zheng, who didn't elaborate.

Yes, because promiscuity among the upper classes never cause sexual and reproduction problems. Keep on keepin' on, China....

We have to admit our trip to the Trojan Bus near the Excel Center yesterday was not entirely on the up-and-up (no pun intended.)

We heard there were a half dozen hotties flirting with delegates, handing out condoms and buttons, and asking the ladies and gentlemen of the RNC to take some sort of condom test. This, we thought, sounds like Scanner material...

Trojan claims this is not a marketing ploy (you know, buy our condoms and you'll get these hot girls to like you), but rather a booming wake up call about the state of the country's sexual health. Hint: it's in the shitter.

Ah, yes... about those games. What we experienced was basically the Relay Game. If you've read the rules off the sign in the above photo, you've pretty much figured out how that goes, we imagine. If only there was a way to roll a condom over a banana while taking pictures (we never did get the one-hand move down yet-- again, no pun intended), we would have figured it out and presented a full photo essay here. As it is, we think you can use your imagination.

However, here is some visualization, if only of the bus, which has a little ~~peep show booth~~ video booth where students and anyone else off the street can record their own sexual health-related message to America. (Our was going to be something about how it's Wednesday, which means it's Business Time, but we thought better of that...) In any case, we will say this: we're glad a very dedicated group of people of any age are spreading a positive message about condoms. John Cantrell, foster father and Santa Claus (obviously) to a whopping 27 adopted children, including some who performed in the infamous child sex show before he rescued them, has been arrested on unrelated charges of sexual assault from two decades-old cases.

Now one of the six trials of suspects in the Mineola, TX child sex ring case is on shaky ground... since Cantrell was supposed to be the prosecution's star witness...

Cantrell, who has cared for hundreds of children through the foster care system and has adopted 27, is being charged by two of his own daughters, who no longer live with the family. The statute of limitations has expired on one of the allegations, but the other is waiting a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed.

Cantrell's wife claims the two daughters are disturbed, possibly by earlier sexual abuse, and made "unfounded" claims in her younger years. But why doesn't the media say why John Cantrell is testifying? Does he happen to know the ringleaders for some non-child-sex reason and happened to stumble on their nefarious game... or did he attend the performances himself?

Victoria Cantell, another adopted daughter, also defended her dad. "They let me in with loving arms, and they always raised me in a godly, Christian way," she told KETK. "My dad's always been sweet and kind to everybody. All that stuff that they're saying, it can't be true."

Meanwhile, the next trial in the sex show case, Patrick Kelly's, is being postponed because of the new developments.
