Eric Balfour Drops Trou at the Drop of a Hat

As someone who used to work at a naked man magazine that used to run movie stills of naked Hollywood actors, I can attest that Eric Balfour (above, center) is one of the few men not afraid to drop trou for a camera. (You might say, "Eric who?" as did I before that gig. He's been in "24," "Six Feet Under," and here's his imdb page.)

Apparently, he'll drop his drawers (or overalls, as the case may unfortunately be) for any camera, even someone approaching him on the street, like photographer Thairin Smothers, as posted on World of Wonder.

The photos were taken in 1998, but Thairin didn't realize the model in the middle was known until his housemates recently recognized him in the prints.

It doesn't seem that long ago that Marisa Tomei's career was made and simultaneously ruined by her winning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for My Cousin Vinny. We saw "ruined" because the backlash began before she even took the stage-- with many saying Jack Palance had read the wrong name and many more claiming Tomei didn't deserve it either way, since her performance and role were "slight."

While these are, we have to admit, not entirely unfair (the fact that Judy Davis did not win unanimously is one of the great snubs of all time), they should not have stuck with Tomei for so long. Witness her brutal and affecting performance in 2007's violent caper film Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Plus, her inspired comic turn in The Slums of Beverly Hills and other indie films of note.

If it takes these uncensored topless scenes from The Wrestler to restore her standing among Hollywood's finest actors, so be it...

Did you catch how the was able to express her character's unhappiness in very subtle ways in that one on-stage strip scene (the one where Mickey Rourke hands her a piece of paper at the end)? Clad in nipple rings, tainted by a deliberately rough makeup job, the gorgeous Marisa Tomei serves as-- believe it or not-- the beautiful half of the Mickey Rourke-and-the-stripper pairing at the center of The Wrestler, an upcoming critical favorite.

Darren Aronofsky is widely believed to have recovered from The Fountain with this awards-season bait, with Mickey Rourke a shoo-in for a Best Actor nomination (even at the Oscars, which is saying something.) But until today, we hadn't heard word one about Marisa Tomei being in the film or, more importantly, her second epic nude scene in as many years.

Tomei plays a stripper-- that much we know and that much we want to know. The rest, we'd rather learn as we watch the movie (aren't all cinema experiences better if you don't even know what the movie's about, only that you should see it?) However, we can't resist a few leaked topless photos and we're sure you won't mind either:

5. If These Walls Could Talk 2. This sweeping lesbian love saga was a bit too Lifetime Movie Of The Week for our tastes, but the Emmy voters loved it: in addition to giving a Best Supporting Actress statue to Vanessa Redgrave, voters awarded this HBO sequel with three other nominations in leading categories, including Best Made For Television Film. Not only is it a strong and passionate artistic achievement, there are, of course, many sexy moments: from Chloe Sevigny and Michelle Williams making out in front of a stunned male neighbor to Sharon Stone and Ellen Degeneres exploring every inch of each other. We mentioned this film and the Sevigny-Williams sex scene in an unrelated post on Friday, with the post and NSFW clip here.

4. Mulholland Drive. When we went to a New Orleans Film Festival advance screening of this film, people were leaving the theater in droves about midway through. It took us a minute to realize they were all going to the bathroom to play with themselves thanks to the film's unbelievably sexy love scenes between Laura Harring and Naomi Watts. 3. Secretary. This movie could have been subtitled: "Work and other sadomasochistic activities." Maggie Gyllenhaal is spanked, made to crawl on the floor while carrying paper in her teeth, and to fall in love with James Spader. And, more importantly, she enjoys every minute of it. Depsite the ridiculous Sleeping Beauty-esque climax, it's not the least bit surprising this movie rose above the independent pile-on of the early 2000's to become a mainstream DVD smash.

2. Basic Instinct. Can you believe that some moviegoers were unsure who the killer was? SPOILER ALERT: It was Sharon Stone, you bleeding idjits. On a lighter note, the most memorable nude scene in move history almost didn't happen-- after all, it wasn't in Joe Eszterhas's infamous screenplay. And whenever you see Sharon Stone on TV telling you she didn't know the camera was going to be right between her legs? Laugh. [Very NSFW clip follows.]

1. Sex & Lucia. Several of you suggested this film-- as if we could've left it off in our right minds! A lonely writer's craziest fan picks him up in a restaurant, takes him home, and gives him the best sex a human being has ever had, then stays faithful to him even after his untimely death-- while a guy with a huge dick tries to get in her pants. The sexual energy of this film is so unrelenting, it's impossible to watch alone without taking off your clothes. Watching as a couple? Forget about it. It'll take at least three viewings to get through the whole two hours. We don't want to spoil any of the raunch, so here's a trailer instead:

In the future, we hope to show more from the Sopranos and the L Word, plus something from the Wire, but for now... here's the Top 5 Sex Scenes From Television Shows, Part One...

5. The Sopranos. Tony and his secretary at the no-show job he shows up for. Alicia Witt's sex scene is jealous of this one.

4. Weeds. We shared a great Mary-Louise Parker sex scene from last season with you. Now catch the followup, which may be even hotter, if that were even possible.

3. Tudors. We can't stand to watch more of this show than the following 40-second clip, but that has more to do with the acting "chops" of Jonathan Rhys-Meyers more than anything else. Natalie Dormer on the other hand... wow, look out.

2. Six Feet Under. "Shut up and fuck me" are the exact words we thought of before Rachel Griffiths utters them to end this all-too-brief clip.

Without The Wire, Sex and the City, and the Sopranos, and with Curb Your Enthusiasm and Flight of the Conchords between seasons, HBO is in a tough spot. How do they replicate their incredible (and well-deserved) success with the newer shows?

Somebody had the right idea: vampires, Anna Paquin, and rampant nudity...

It's better to just peek at the pictures and wish this weren't some Grade-Z softcore porn sex scene, which is way less than what a talented and beautiful Academy Award winner deserves. Keira Knightley, Cillian Murphy, Sienna Miller, and Rhys Ifans (Sienna's ex) star in the new movie The Edge of Love, which has something to do with Englishpeople whispering in their adorable accents, as you will see in this clip.

Notwithstanding A-list favorites and celebrity gossip, all anyone really cares about right now is the question: what about the sex scene?

Since the film, which was released in England in June, is not yet available in the US in any form, the only way you're going to see it (besides illegally downloading a copy) in this country is at the link below. And in case all you wanted to see was this one scene, and end up disappointed and disinterested in seeing the rest of the film, remember this: the film has consistently held a 91% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes since August.

In other words, if you don't enjoy this Merchant and Ivory-meets-Skinemax style of love scene, at least the movie might be good...
