Virginity Auction: Now How Much Would You Pay?

Last fall, 22-year-old student Natalie Dylan began an auction for her virginity, at the time drawing offers up to $243 grand. She hasn't upped the ante and thrown in any extra action, but her commanding price has since skyrocketed.

She's now gotten offers from more than 10,000 potential deflowerers, and the high bid is up to $2.5 million.

Natalie decided on this stunt to pay for her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy after her sister paid her own way with a three-week hooking stint. (We at Scanner are really in the wrong business. Already knew that, but just sayin'.)

David Lachapelle has taken some great photographs over the years. He's even taken some great photographs of Pamela Anderson. This one, though, we're a little "meh" about. It took us a second to "get it," but it's Pam putting on a spray tan.

Though the photo was taken in 2004, it was expected to draw up to $25,000 at Sotheby's earlier this week. We're fans of Lachapelle, and we love the photograph he did of Pam that's after the jump, but we don't know if we'd pay more than $25 for this one. Would you?

Get your pocketbooks out. According to the New York Post, someone is throwing a very exclusive party for Michael Jackson's panties.

A pair of size-28 Calvin Klein white briefs once belonging to Wacko Jacko will be auctioned on eBay tomorrow, with a reserve price of $1 million. The unwashed underpants have a sensational past. They were part of the evidence confiscated in 2003 by then-Santa Barbara DA Tom Sneddon, who wanted a DNA sample for his unsuccessful child-molestation case against the washed-up King of Pop.

Wasn't this evidence? Can you just sell evidence in a court case? Who in the world would bid on this?

We can't imagine being in the same room as the underwear, and yet we're sure some weirdo will buy them. The only thing stranger than being Michael Jackson is wanting to own his gitch. Yeeeeah, we're saving our pennies for Bubbles. Our dog could use a new friend.

Larry Birkhead wanted little Dannielynn Smith to have something to remember her mother, Anna Nicole, by, so at a recent auction Birkhead scooped up a few of his baby mama's most prized possessions.

Unorthodox heirlooms to say the least, Birkhead purchased a nearly $2,000 pink bustier a $1,000 white negligee for his daughter:

"I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn't really know about," Birkhead told The Associated Press. "Playboy was such a big part of Anna's career."

"You know, it's not something I can show today, but something down the road," Birkhead said. "It's not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon."

Murakami Masturbation Sculpture Sells for Millions

Murakami's "My Lonesome Cowboy" sculpture was expected to go for about $4 million at Sotheby's this week, but apparently it was much more popular than anyone could have anticipated.

"My Lonesome Cowboy" was purchased for $15.1 million, in a winning bid called in by telephone — which we think is kind-of lame; if you're cool enough to spend $15.1 million on something like this, you should be cool enough to do it in public, right?

Anyway, luckily, there's still another Lonesome Cowboy waiting for us at the Brooklyn Museum's Murakami exhibit, which we're totally going to see. Someday. Before it closes.

It's called "Benefits Supervisor Sleeping," and last night it netted 33 million samoleans at Christie's auction house in Manhattan. Which, if you're paying attention, would get you a few hundred of those Gisele shots from a few months back. Justified? Who can say; it's art. That shit hasn't made sense since the Japanese bought the Mona Lisa or whatever.

Gisele Bundchen Worth More Than Carla Bruni Naked. Why?

While a nude picture of French first lady Carla Bruni may have gone for $91,000 at a recent auction, Brazillian supermodel Gisele Bundchen can rest assured that she is still, as Scanner Bryan would put it, hot as the fucking sun. A naked picture of Bundchen (after the jump) earned more than twice as much as a nude photo of Bruni at Christie's auction house last week.

We're a little surprised; we thought the whole first lady naked thing would be worth more than the run-of-the-mill, dating a football player, supermodel naked thing. What do you think?

That nudie auction that we've been so excited about for, like, months finally happened on Thursday, and it, well... it was basically a success. That Brigitte Bardot shot we liked went for about $100,000 more than estimated, and the Michel Comte snap of French First Lady Carla Bruni (remember the dustup a few weeks back?) went for $91,000 --20 TIMES more than expected.

So what's the bad news? Well, a Cambodian children's hospital apparently didn't notice the word "nude" plastered all over every aspect of the auction, so they're refusing their share of the profits.

Dr [Beat] Richner told French publication Le Matin Dimanche that his decision was made out of respect for his patients and their mothers, and said accepting the money would have been perceived as an insult.

He also criticised the photographer for using his hospitals to gain publicity.

The money will now instead be donated to a Swiss research institute developing the recycling of used water into fresh drinking water in poor countries.

The classy thing, of course, would be for Madame First Lady to find a way to match the profits... Anyone else care to hold their breath for that one?

Sacré Blue! Our Favorite Nudie Auction Totally Pissed Off Le French!

Turns out that amazing auction of nudes at Christie's that we won't be attending next month was briefly an international incident. Pour quoi? Because French First Lady (and former Crush of the Week) Carla Bruni's got a nekkid portrait from a few years back in it -- and she found about the whole thing right around the same time she's on a goodwill tour in Christie's home country of England. Weirdly, Bruni didn't find the coincidence nearly as amusing as we did.

She had hoped her trip to Britain would establish her as a respectable consort for the president of France.
So Carla Bruni reacted with fury yesterday when British auctioneers chose the eve of the state visit to announce the sale of a full-frontal nude portrait of her.
The print, taken during her modelling days by photographer Michel Comte in 1993, will go under the hammer at Christie's in New York next month.

Experts say the renewed interest in her is likely to send its price up to £2,000.

OK, we sort of call bullshit because we've known about the auction for, like, weeks; it's just the hubbub that's new. Oh well. The trip's going great, so problem solved, right? The winning bid, made at 5 in the AM yesterday (sneaky!) by one "swendlick" was $5,200. Which, if you put that into real people money, is roughly the equivalent of "Holy Crap!"

Not only is this used Dell D600 a steal at just 400 bucks, but it comes with just about the best story of provenance we've heard about a second-hand item since that Antiques Roadshow: Whorehouses of Old New Orleans* special. The laptop belonged to this guy's girlfriend, who was getting her naughty Windows upgrade from another man. But that's only where the story begins.

Seeing that sex had gone out the window a month ago (seriously from once or twice a day to nothing) I figured if I could[n’t] get any neither should he.
