We
always scoffed at references to and jokes involving the infamous story
of Van Halen and "the brown M&Ms." If friends say, "No brown
M&Ms, please," we always rolled our eyes. "Oh man, that's the
oldest joke in the books," we'd mutter. "And it isn't even true."

out, the Smoking Gun has proof that the request for "No brown M&Ms" backstage was indeed real... and that the rest of
the rock band's 53-page concert rider from 1982 turns out to be just as
obnoxious...
