• Vogue Gives $200 Umbrella to India's Poor, Snaps a Photo and Quickly Gets in the Car

  This is a photo from the August issue of Vogue India. It shows a man from Rajasthan in India holding a $200 Burberry umbrella. The woman has an Etro bag. It's probably safe to assume the models in these photos cannot afford a $200 umbrella and would have the good sense not to buy one if they could. • David Fincher. "Heavy Metal." That Is All.

  If you think you heard a swishing sort of sound over the weekend, that was probably just the whistle of a million film-nerd boners swaying in the spring breeze over the news that David Fincher will be heading up a new animated adaptation of sci-fi stroke mag Heavy Metal for release in... well, we're not sure, actually. Fincher just wrapped a movie with Brad Pitt, and is attached to a number of other projects, but he's only gonna be directing one of Heavy Metal's segments, along with other segments by the guy who created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and others; he's largely producing the project.
