Sloppy Seconds: Women Know When Men Are Turned On

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

Life in prison for consensual sex with a 16-year-old boy? That's a big WTF.

North Dakota fired another salvo in the war against the morning after pill and other "abortions": they passed a law stating that life begins at conception.

Speaking of conception, it's the reason a big celebrity couple recently broke up...

Hayden Panettiere's relationship with Milo Ventimiglia apparently wasn't strong enough to survive the always-fun pregnancy scare. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, "The test proved negative but apparently caused friction that sparked the breakup." [The Superficial]

Here's a new way to keep paranoid tabs on your significant other: the Driving Activity Reporter, which tracks, maps, and saves your car's movement history.

Have you heard about the crazy cafeteria occupation at NYU? Two girls decided to take to the streets without their clothes on and Fleshbot has the pictures.

Rihanna has wisely decided to refrain from public comment about Chris Brown. Smart gal.

Two stories left over from earlier this week: the New York Times says women know when men are turned on because the smell of the man's sweat will change.

And, in men, "the part of the brain associated with empathy for other peoples' emotions and wishes shut down after looking at [sexy bikini] pictures."

I thought a woman could tell when a man was turned on simply by noticing if he was breathing.

I don't know if this is affecting anyone else but the last few days (or weeks, I don't remember) the posts have been very hard for me to read with red background and red text.  Can you change the font color to make it easier on our eyes?  Por favor?

This is for nicolette63,  I get red text and backgrounds while my computer is redrawing a Nerve page but then it clears up to the standard black text on a white background with a red pallet surrounding the Nerve page.  Your problem is not Nerve.  But I don't have the expertise to advise what to do.  I have a similar problem when I try to view a wmv clip so I know your frustration. Perhaps some guru maybe able to aid you.

nicolette63: To read a Nerve page before the complete redraw and the white background comes up, hit CONTROL-A, which is "Select All".  Usually the selected text is easier to read.  Or be patient.

Actually, the problem isn't Nerve-- it's Scanner. For the past week or so, we've been having page load problems. Not sure what it is-- an overburdened server? Puritan hackers upset about the occasional boob?

In any case, sorry about it. Highlighting does seem to help.
