More of Those Gloriously Painful Celebrity High School Yearbook Photos

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

It's true: like a good wine, we're better as we get older.

These ancient yearbook photos of national politicians and movie stars will reassure you that your looks improve with age, and not the reverse. In a society that's becoming increasingly focused on and obsessed with cultural figures that are seemingly younger every year (look at the top names in the music business right now-- Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and Taylor Swift), it's practically life-affirming to see, for example, how ridiculous Cameron Diaz looked in high school...

At the top: Paula Abdul. Date unknown, but obviously-- wow-- pre-nose job.

Yes, the above two are Sarah Palin. We swear.

Does the superlative for Most Likely To Become Famous go to Madonna or what?

None of those photos strike me as particularly "painful" (maybe Paula Abdul). Outside of some dated haircuts, most of those currently beautiful people (well, not Cheney), were already good-looking back then (actually, Cheney looked pretty good back then). Madonna was a total cutie-pie.
