The only break these poor baby hedgehogs
can catch requires a cast and bandages. They're too weak to hibernate
and the weather has led to a shortage of the grubs, slugs, beetles, and caterpillars they eat.
We want to take these babies and carry their busted little selves
around in a shoebox with us everywhere we go. We finally get that weird girl in second grade who
brought a baby bird with a broken wing to school and kept it in her
locker.
