Scanner reader Lauren forwarded us an email, one of those
endlessly forwarded emails that usually come from our mom and/or parents we
know. This email concerned what is, legitimately, a frightening trend: crystal
meth disguised as children’s candy. Geez, people, what ever happened to an
old-fashioned apple with a razor blade? Here is an excerpt from the email,
which is (by the way) so totally [SIC]:
A very scary thing is going on in the schools right. There
is a type of crystal meth going around that looks like strawberry pop rocks. It
smells like strawberry also and it is being handed out to kids in school yards
in AR… It also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and
orange. It looks just like pop rocks.
Pop rocks?!? Now that is scary stuff. Do not drink that crystal meth with Coca-Cola,
because your mouth will explode. Remember what happened to Mikey?
