Born in Brooklyn, Rikki Kasso
has spent the last few years photographing the seamy and dreamy underbelly of
Tokyo and its
various inhabitants. If you've seen his work, you know the man has never met
a hotel room he couldn't turn into a delicate den of depravity. Here, Kasso
captures a guy, two girls and an assortment of sex toys in what can most
easily be described as "behind the scenes at a low-budget porn
shoot." But rather than aim his lens at the most basic ins and outs of
the business at hand, Kasso focuses on the subtle details that show the
personalities of all involved. From smoke breaks to a girl's laughter when
tickled, he finds the perfect
combination of soul and smut.
