Winter Makes Me Homicidal

I know it's only autumn, which is my second favorite season of all, but that bite in the air makes me think of the oncoming winter, and all the attendant reasons to hate it:

ice
frumpy sweaters
perpetually runny noses
the return of my chronic sinusitis
that tickle in the back of my throat
darker (and shorter) days
that hibernation instinct
etc.

Is it any wonder I get a bit homicidal during this time of year?

Halloween Resource: Target

Okay guys. It's October 1, which means that it's high time I started I started preparing the condo for Halloween.

...

Oh, who am I kidding? I already put up a wreath and my Halloween dish towels a couple weeks ago. And last weekend, I changed all the candles in my votive holder to reflect the changing of the seasons (yes, I really am that dorky, but it's such a pleasure to repeatedly walk by 16 candles that smell like pumpkin pie and pumpkin spice).

I also went to Target, because they always have such a fabulous holiday display. This year was no different. After the jump, some of the items I bought, and some other items I bought and then returned because Michael told me I went overboard:

Lord knows none of us can survive without text messaging. I mean, personally? It's my primary form of communication. But there are times when, really, you shouldn't be texting. Like when you're driving.

Let's Get A Jump On Father's Day

I am so bad at this. I believe I've mentioned this before, but Father's Day always sneaks up on me, and then I'm paralyzed with fear because I can't figure out what in heck my father would want because all he does is work and sleep and snack and, sometimes, read and then I just end up getting him a new paperback or chocolate the day of.

I am so lame.

Cupcake Week Continued: Wear Your Sweet Tooth On Your Sleeve

Lordy, if I only had a cupcake right now. Back when the roomies and I made those strawberry cupcakes in ice cream cones, we'd leave them out on the counter and end up going through them like wildfire, grabbing one for every meal.

But moving on...

Okay...now moving on...how can one possibly prove to me that they're as devoted to the art of the cupcake as I am?

The Phantom Keystroker has been getting a lot of attention lately, but on no day is it more appropriate than today.

This USB gadget, once plugged in, emulates both the keyboard and mouse, and periodically makes random mouse movements and types out random text and phrases on your victim's computer screen.

Now, in the spirit of effing people over for fun, I've posted one of my favorite The Burg shorts after the jump. Though the action here does not actuallt take place on April Fool's Day, the sentiment is the same.
