Bad Timing for Sparklingly Conspicuous Consumption?

Posted by Steph Auteri

In a time when people are trading in their Hummer for Priuses, and their Neiman Marcus for  T.J. Maxx, it seems appalling that high-end labels such as Louis Vuitton are bringing on even more bling. Case in point: LV's two new diamond cuts, resembling the LV brand itself.

These diamonds — the pointed flower and the rounded flower — have between 61 and 77 facets and have been set into various pieces of jewelry, including a necklace, which contains 108 carats and retails for $4 million.

Dude. If I had $4 million, I would pay off all of my student loan and credit card debt. sell off this damn condo, and buy a house. With lots of bookcases.

::sigh::
