I've been wishing for a web app like this ever since my closest friends started moving unbearably far away. And I don't mean GoogleMaps (though GoogleMaps is one of my favorite things ever as well). I mean, this is on par with that time I found out about HopStop. 

Meetways allows you to plug in two addresses, and then it finds the halfway point between the two of them.

You can even specify the type of place you'd like to find for a meetup.

For example, the halfway point between me and my good friend Christina up in Boston is somewhere in Connecticut, and there are four coffee shops in the area (two of them Starbucks, of course). Eee! I am going to have so much dorky fun with this.
