Sale of the Day: In a Clutch

Posted by Wendy Atterberry

I think the amount of things a woman carries in her purse increases with her age. When I was 13, for example, I carried five dollars, a pack of gum, and lipgloss. These days I'm 31 and I carry: a pack of gum, 8 lipglosses, 2 chapsticks, 1 lipstick, a pocket mirror, a cell phone, two subway maps (one paper and one laminated), a luna bar, keys to my apartment, gym, mailbox and bike lock, a notebook, a planner, a tampon and panty liner for emergencies (mine or someone else's in the ladies room), 2 pairs of sunglasses, hand lotion, perfume, a contact lens case, a pocket pack of tissues, a change purse, and a wallet full of maxed-out credit cards, my ID, library card, MoMA card, social security card, coupons, and receipts. And on big walking days, I usually carry an extra pair of shoes and maybe a scarf.

I don't know if all that would fit in this ccute little red clutch. But what the hell, it's on sale for $16.80 and I can always leave a pair of sunglasses at home.

What's in your bag?

[was $24, now $16.80, Patina Store
